Apple Safari has long tried to get rid of URLs. We use to hear that Google Chrome will do the same. With mobile devices taking over, the apps are becoming the standard source for web and data. They have no URLs.

Established platforms are also not very keen on sharing the exact URL. When I use a Facebook app on my Android Phone, I do not care about which URL I am in.

Is it done then ? The days or URLs and domains are over ?

I don't think so. Because non Latin characters in elements has long been in demand. Once it comes into being, a lot of organisations, businesses and individuals will want to use them.

I don't think so, as the domain name differentiates each and every website it is no longer invalid.

There’s one problem. Android not so much, but to have an app in Apple's App Store you have to pay. So, you have to pay for development help potentially, pay for hosting, pay to get the app approved...

It’s way easier and cheaper to have a domain name and website.

With Apple, it is always spending money, more of it.

To submit an app to Google Play Store, we need a ``developer account``. It used to cost $25.

Most apps have no domain name but have a unique name to differentiate themselves from others right? I believe Domain also does the same.

They have an app ID. Also apps need to be digitally signed by the author.
