Do you trust when hosting providers promise 99.9% uptime? How likely is it that most hosts are able to do that?

Yes, most of the providers I use keep the promise. They mostly do when it is in the contract.

Our current platform has a decent up-time. It is not promised and there is no written agreement. But they have done remarkably well so far.

I would be more inclined to trust a 99.9% uptime guarantee if a provider has been around for years. However, I see smaller providers that are just starting that advertise 99.9% uptime; I have trouble believing that they have the capability of doing that at times.

When I signed up with Namecheap, they said 99.99 percent uptime. Well, I have to just believe them because I use tools to monitor my sites downtime but I have never seen my sites down
