Sending Emails from WordPress Dashboard

I am trying to find out a way to send the emails through the WordPress dashboard. And hopefully that would give me some idea of the running e-mail newsletter and similar services through it. Do you think there is an add on or service that can be useful in this context?

There are a lot of services like MailChimp which can be used for this purpose. I am against spamming the inbox. That is a reason I have not explored it much as I would like to.
