It's been a while since I've done graphic design. I loved to find different renders and design around those graphics. I used to make banners for other forums. I used to use sites but I don't remember what they're called. Are these even called renders still? They're like free to use images and are usually video game or movie characters.

As far as I know, render is a processed output from graphics software.

Maybe you are right. Those are rendered output from a base file. Possibly a 3D model from game or other resources.

Nice to know that you are a graphics person. Hoping to learn from you.

Banners for gaming forums? That is fun.

Agree. They are processed output. So anything that is simplified from a complex base file is a render.

You get them a lot for games. Because in leading games, everything is 3D. They are technically complex and need very high graphics resource to manipulate.
