Posting in older topics

Do you allow people to post in older topics aka dead threads? I have told people, if it's on my forum, it's fair game to reply to. I've sought out older threads to bring 'new life' to something when I've visited forums. There's new members who may have not have seen it.

Plus why have several threads of the same thing.

As long as they are spamming and are posting something relevant, I have no problem with bumping old topics.

Sometimes, it makes sense to post in an older topic. Sometimes, if a forum hasn't been active for a while, all of the topics might technically be old (as I saw on a forum fairly recently). I don't really see why it is taboo on some forums.

I don't mind at all, on slower forums it may spark a bit of traffic.
