Images rather than text

Posting images with information rather than posting text in a blog is good?

I run a blog where i update posts with images more (say ads, pamphlet etc..) rather than typing and giving out the context in text. Will it affect the indexing or post popularity?

While Google is quite capable of reading text inside images, there need to be some text in your post. A small description and alt text can improve the SEO greatly. Maybe I am wrong and Google will find that images are enough. But from a conventional point of view, a small amount of text based content is always useful.

Another issue with images only are that they need to be optimized and at the same time should possess a good quality. This is a balance we need to achieve as improving one normally damages the other. Images means slow page loading speed and Google is all in for fast loading pages.

@"[unknown]"#p6311 well, a good blog post must be understandable easily. There shouldn't be excess images, that would really confuse the readers. You need to provide some elaborating images, that should help the readers to get a clear idea about the subject.

Atleast, you should know what you are actually covering in the post. If there are some statistical data in your article, you should avoid giving any images for that. Provide images only to elaborate a situation.

I can't respond from an index point of view. However I can from someone browsing a blog. I personally rather read something. Images are good to get the gist but then we need a nice synopsis to explain what it is we are seeing. Both are beneficial.
