It is easy to find members through Facebook. And Facebook will take care of putting us in the user's feed and notifications. If you advertise on FB, you can reach more people with your page / group.

What chance does a forum has against a Facebook group ?

Better for

1 . Getting new members
[*]2. Control on member behaviour
[*]3. Advertising the page / group
[*]4. Paid advertising on Facebook

Bad in

[*]1. Less control for admin
[*]2. Not a definite thread view like forums
[*]3. Can't place your own ads

Adsense ? Is it applicable at all ? Everyone uses an adblocker. If not the browsers comes with adblocker pre-installed.

That will happen with Facebook groups too. Not promoted posts though.

Start one 🤣

I think that is what we should do. But it will not have such thread like structure. It only values the main posts. Comments live behind the curtain.

The last part is what I am not happy about. Discussions sinks much faster than here on a forum.

Yes, you need to keep on adding topics. That is a burden if you ask me. A good discussion could go 20 to 30 pages.

I am more inclined towards Instagram these days. Let me read a bit about how to use it successfully as a webmaster. It is mostly a travel / personal photo sharing website from what I see.

I have some ideas in mind about using it efficiently. Let us see. :)
