Do you know that Bootstrap 5 is on its way ? There was a lot of interaction with the community lately. There is no known date about the release of the software, but I don't think it will take much more from here. You can follow the developments on their Github

Bootstrap drops support for Internet Explorer 11 ( IE 11)

> if you hadn’t heard: we dropped IE11 support in our upcoming v5 release. This is largely motivated by how long major versions take to stabilize. If you need IE at all, use v4—we have a v4.4.2 in the works, too.

I wish someone would drop internet exploder (intended) completely. Preferably off a cliff.

Probably the Bootstrap team thought the same. They were debating about dropping IE support since some time.

It is a hard choice for them. If they end up supporting old browsers, Bootstrap will become a bloat which people already blame it is. More code for probably a browser which only around 5 % of user base actively keep alive.

Meanwhile, version 4.5 of Bootstrap is now available

What is v 4.5 ?

I like their new logo. But the old one was not bad either.

There were mixed reactions on dropping jQuery. Mainly because people don't know how it is going to affect them. A few people wanted continued support for IE 10 and 11.

What will they replace it with ? That's a fundamental base of Bootstrap - I guess something like Angular ?

Bootstrap says that Alpha 2 of Bootstrap 5 will be released in a couple of weeks. A patch for version 4 will also be made available at that time. These will be mostly optimisations and bug fixes.

**Alpha 2** of Bootstrap 5 will be available in _next few weeks_. There will be another Alpha before Bootstrap **Beta 1** will be available.

Bootstrap 4.5.2 is now available. The team says they missed some fixes in the earlier minor release.

Bootstrap says they will be going slowly for a couple of weeks

That is a minor delay. A short break for relaxation. You will get mad when you stare at the screen too much.

There is no hurry for Bootstrap 5. A lot of people are still using v3
