Assuming that you have tried many forum software, which one has the best interface for admins and mods ? Setting groups and permissions, anti-spam, ACP search and so on.

I used to think that IPB has the best backend interface. But I haven't tried them recently.

NodeBB has a nice back-end. Woltlab has a good search feature in ACP.

I think Xenforo has too many options. MyBB is ok.

I never got used to phpBB back-end. Way too complex for me. Could be because of the colour they use. Alway dreaded that shade of grey-blue.

@Abhi Have a look at wpForo for WordPress. If anything, it does have a decent back-end.

I think I have seen some screenshot of it somewhere. I will take your word for it.

WordPress forums are very light. So there is not much there for you to get confused. There is bbPress which is very famous and simple. A bit too simple. :)

@admin bbpress lacks even the most basic features, and looks very dated.

@Abhi yes, that's it. No catch, but the additional functionality is provided by paid extensions. If a very good plugin though.

Joomla had one popular forum extension too. I don't remember the name. It is 100 % paid, but really powerful and flexible. Not sure what happened of it.
