What do you think about running 18.04 Ubuntu on your server ? I see that a lot of people are still using it. Isn't it good to use 20.04 on fresh instances from now on ?

Outdated ? I don't think so. Why ?

[*]1. It is still officially supported

[*]2. A lot of reputed hosts are giving an option to install 18.04

Some are even offering 16.04, the last I checked

[*]3. A lot of community support is available on internet
[*]4. There are enough guides and tutorials available for almost every issue that might arise.

Yes, it has got official support. But I think if we get a better, newer version, it will be productive to run it. It is already December. So there will be enough resources online. But I agree on one thing, 20.04 not time tested like 18.04.

The most important thing is, people do not want to break things that are working fine. So a lot of people like to continue with 18.04. It will more work and possibly disaster for some admins to try things on a production setup.
